Entergy Arkansas, Inc. Residential Security Deposits
Entergy Arkansas customers use electrical service before paying for it. Each month’s bill reflects usage during the previous month. For this reason, new customers may be required to make a refundable security deposit, which helps protect Entergy and its customers from those who use electricity and then leave without paying for it. Because such losses affect all of our customers, the security deposit helps us keep everyone’s costs down.
Deposit Requirements – Customers have the option to pay all or part of the initial deposit before the first bill, but the initial deposit must be paid in full by first bill due date.
- Arrangements can not be made on a billed initial deposit.
- Deposit amounts are determined by Arkansas Public Service Commission rules.
Entergy Arkansas Bill Deposit - Residential
The deposit is billed in one (1) installment. Customer may pay ½ of deposit prior to service initiation and the balance on the first bill.
Residence - Home, Mobile Home, Apartment, etc. - Own or Rent
First time customers may be charged $210, which is twice the state average of $106 (rounded down to the nearest $5).
Existing customers may be charged more or less than the $210 depending upon their payment history with Entergy Arkansas, Inc.

Security Light ONLY Account
One (1) Security Light (175 W) $25.
(Minimum Deposit Amount - $25).
More than one (1) Security Light (or a Security Light Larger than 175 W).
Two times (2X) the monthly amount of the total cost of all lights requested.
(Example): If the cost of 1 light is $20 per month - Multiply $20 X number of lights (say 3 lights) - $20 X 3 = $60 X 2 (twice the total cost of all lights requested) = $120 deposit) This is an example only.
