Community Resource Center

Entergy’s Community Resource Center was developed in 1997 as a research and marketing tool for use by Arkansas communities and the staff of Teamwork Arkansas. The center is available during work hours for use by the communities Entergy Arkansas serves.

Accurate research and reliable information are critical to both economic developers and the prospects they are recruiting. Outfitted with a state-of-the-art information system, Teamwork Arkansas’ Community Resource Center (CRC) gathers and distributes data on local Arkansas communities, industries and targeted business prospects.

Information available in the CRC helps support Teamwork Arkansas’ business recruiters and community development professionals, as well as community leaders and government agencies who are bringing new jobs to Arkansas.

Information is compiled from international data banks, national trade associations, colleges and universities, local chambers of commerce and state agencies. Research sources range from nationwide electronic databases to personal inquiries of local community leaders. The Community Resource Center staff can, for instance, provide comprehensive data on the availability of industrial buildings and sites in Arkansas—a benefit to both economic developers and the prospects they serve.

The staff of the Community Resource Center can provide demographic and marketplace data, such as population, household income and consumer expenditures within a given market area.

This data gathering has been further enhanced through the acquisition of a Geographic Information System (GIS) which allows users to graphically represent these types of data. Specific research may be furnished upon request by contacting the Community Resource Center manager.

The Community Resource Center also assists local communities in their targeted recruitment efforts by preparing marketing information specific to the community and its resources and facilities.

One of the more unique marketing tools that the CRC uses is mapping capabilities of the GIS software. The center can prepare individual site maps, industrial park maps and city/state maps to be used in marketing materials. The CRC also will help develop professional project proposals for community prospects.

Additionally, the CRC has helped many communities prepare PowerPoint presentations for various purposes. The center also helps develop additional presentation materials for the local economic developer, such as poster-size maps of industrial parks, project proposals to prospects and any other projects that would require a professional package to be developed.
